Thinspo Challenge Days 05 - 12:

So, I figured I might as well catch up with my thinspo challenge that I started, get ready for a massive post! :)

Day 05; Why do you really want to lose this weight? Are you doing it for you?

I really want to lose this weight because I’ve been struggling with it all my life. I’ve never truly been “overweight”, but when I was younger I was rather chubby, and it really made an impact on me. Ever since I was ten, I was dieting and working out in the hopes of being skinnier. But I never really gave it my all, and now I’m going to. I have a gym membership, a new bike, and the willpower to do this. I am definitely doing it for me - my boyfriend and friends love me the way I am, even I were thirty pounds lighter or thirty pounds heavier. To me, I’m not happy at this weight, and I need to do something.

Day 06; Do you binge? If so, explain why you think you do:

Honestly, I don’t think I do. I know sometimes I’ll have a little too much to eat, but never enough to qualify as a binge. I used to binge/purge - last year, I was in a bad spot. I’d go out and drink every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, come home absolutely hammered, eat about 2,000 calories at once and puke it all up. Every single weekend for a long time, until one day, I just couldn’t bring myself to throw up. And I haven’t purged since. So no, I don’t binge, because I’m scared to fall into that routine again.

Day 07; Do your parents know you’re trying to lose weight? Do they care?

Well, my dad definitely knows I started going to the gym, because I told him and he actually drove me there one day. But he definitely doesn’t know any of my weight loss issues, like the b/ping or how much I truly struggle with my weight. I know one day he might have been catching on, because he started asking me all these questions about anorexia. I think he saw me on Tumblr, reblogging thinspo. But since I moved out, he doesn’t really know a lot. And I like it better that way - I don’t want to have to deal with a concerned parent right now.

Day 08; Your workout routine:

I don’t really have a set workout routine, I just kind of do whatever I feel like, when I feel like doing it. I’ve been biking every day, for at least half an hour, though. My favorite thing to do at the gym is definitely yoga and the elliptical. I’m also starting a dance class that spans over twelve weeks with my friend Nathan, so that should be a lot of fun, and hopefully good exercise :) Aaaand I’m starting P90X, so that’s going to kick my ass!

Day 09; Did people ever make comments about your weight in a negative way?

Of course. I’m sure there isn’t anyone out there who hasn’t been called some version of fat. When I was in elementary school, I got called every name in the book. My parents were never cruel or forceful, but they’d make little remarks about my “puppy fat”, or tell me that I shouldn’t have seconds of something because I’ll gain weight. It made me overly self-concious, and I never want to be the “chubby girl” again.

Day 10; What was the hardest thing you gave up during this weight loss?

Hmm…. I’d have to say, ordering food, like pizza or wings. My boyfriend and I have been really unhealthy, and we ordered food at least twice a week. I’ve been cooking my own food lately, and eating a LOT of fruit to curb the “takeout craving”. It’s really difficult, but I have to let go of this bad habit.

Day 11; Your favourite thinspo blog and why:

Ooh, I love this question. Definitely findingthinagain, also known as Carly. She’s a huge inspiration, I’ve been following her for about a year and a half now, and she’s gone through a lot. She’s battling her ED, and she posts constantly. Honestly, her blog is incredible, I check it every single day. Follow her, you won’t regret it.

Day 12; What do you normally eat?

My diet isn’t the best one… I admit that. Mostly because I’m always at work, and I don’t have a lot of time to pack lunches or go grocery shopping. I work in a mall, so the food court is a prime lunchtime spot. I eat a lot of carbs because I usually get bagels or sandwiches, and I drink a LOT of coffee. I don’t think I could function without coffee, honestly. Lately, though, I’ve been eating more fruit and healthier choices from the food court, like low-fat and low-carb wraps, salads, and fresh smoothies. (None of that Orange Julius style crap, though, it’s packed to the hilt with sugar.)

Aaaaand I’m caught up now!
